a weekend of memories

Memorial day was one to remember for more than one reason. Logan and the Caitster came to St. George to play and we had one heck of a good time. Before the California dwellers showed up we headed over to the newest burger joint in town and tried some shakes and fries.

Friday we spent the day at the pool and then looking at furniture for the pool. Logan hurt his ankle a week before the trip and resembled the elephant man so his mode of transportation was either crutches or a jazzy... aren't they adorable?

Saturday resembled friday except there was some shopping and father purchased this fun toy! With the house backing up the red cliffs and desert why not have a little adventure?  Logan, Caitlin and I took it out for a little spin. I was the designated driver for the first bit because Caitster is prego and Log had his elephant ankle. It was suppose to be a leisurely ride, but I was chicken and Logan wasn't having that so he took over the reins and we just flew up those hills and it was rather fun if I do say so may self.

On Sunday this is how we ended the day. Yes that is Logan in a Red Flyer with a coconut sorbet, yes Bobby Bruce is pulling the wagon and yes Caitlin is holding his hand. Was I embarrassed? Yes. Did Logan consider this to be a normal sunday activity? Yes.

its your birthday shout hooray!

Parker John Hansen turned 26 today. I met Parker 3 years ago when he joined my committee on student council, we became fast friends and even though we have had our ups and downs I was more than pleased to celebrate with him and his posse.

I think this is the same cake I made for Parker 2 years ago.

Parker and his cousin Seth, this was the first photo, then it got progressively worse as they tried to take another photo...

Let's just say the there wasn't another good one taken.

valentines... i luff yew!

I am not sure why all single people hate valentines day... I quite enjoy it and here is why. Last year Kirsten and I hit up the Justin Bieber movie with a few friends, I am pretty sure they boys out numbered us by at least six, and they enjoyed every minute of it. This year I went to work drove to mother and father's and spent the afternoon with mother. We went to Talbots and then to Gavin and Nic's to drop off the kiddos valentines presents and then here comes the really good part. Kirsten and I went to Pizzeria Limone and then to the Lady Antebellum concert. BEST VALENTINES DAY EVER!

side note: the jazz did indeed lose this match up, they actually forfeited by not showing up at all.

Giving Thanks

This year Thanksgiving was in sunny St. George, everyone made it except Grandpa, who was in Atlanta, and Cameron and Maren, for understandable reasons, The little Drew man! The trip down was very enjoyable, Megan, Jason, Landon and I hit the road with a very specific music selestion: She and Him Christmas, Michael Buble Christmas, Lady Antebellum's newest, and to top it off a little SheDaisy Christmas. Jason LOVED it all, especially SheDaisy. I think since then he has purchased every  song they have ever recored! Once in St.George the real party began! Dinner as Casa Dona Maria, Thanksgiving feast, Black Friday shopping (where we missed a brawl by minutes according to reports), More shopping, more eating and lots of family time! This was a much needed break from the semester, and now on to finals!

As you can see the children were thrilled to be leaving

... today is your birthday

... today is Morris' birthday! you may be asking who is Morris? that man looks an awful lot like bruce! they are one in the same my friends! Morris is the greatest man around, not only is he an incredible businessman, and friend, but he is a pretty stand up guy, oh and the world's best dad! literally... he was father of the year when I was a wee child! You don't get recognized for something like that just by being pretty! but being serious now, he is genuinely the best dad a girl could wish for, he is my best friend, my rock and my biggest fan! He finds all my jokes funny, he always knows when I need to hear his voice and words of encouragement, he's got a sixth sense to say the least!  So here is to you MORRIS!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
love you morris!

...valentines-shmalentines...

my title may lead you to believe that I hate valentines day, but I don't. I like seeing all of the cute couples walking around school with balloons tied to their backpacks, bundles of roses in every girl's hand, BUT my favorite part might possibly be the conversation hearts... why you ask? for a few reasons 1... they make conversations so much more interesting 2... you can answer questions with a piece of candy that says "call me" or " fab" and 3... my boss gives me one that says
"6 wives okay?"

{ for those of you who do not know phil clegg let me fill you in. phil is like a chocolate covered gummy bear, he is hard on the outside, but his inside is gooey goodness. somedays phil is really happy while other days you may be slightly terrified of him. }

a while back phil was being moody and i asked him "where is the love phil" and he looked and me and said " i do love you, if i could have 2 wives you'd be my first choice at a second one" as you can imagine I was shocked and walked back to me desk yelling" this is not okay phil, this is not okay!" while phil was laughing hysterically in his office.  this has become a running joke in the office. every day or two someone walks past asking me how my wedding plans are going and if its legal yet! so phil's conversation heart to me today was probably the greatest valentine ever! who knew conversation hearts encouraged polygamy?
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

(All Hallows Eve... or the night before)

HERE is my Halloween costume. Let's just say a lot of time and energy went into the preparation. If you can't tell I am Russell from UP and my friend Linzee is Carl. It is quite honestly my favorite movie ever and I love Russell. The costume started out as a joke, because I do not particularly like Halloween. But I will say I was very pleased with the outcome! I won a "major award" ( name that movie) and got a few laughs along the way. Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween, the kiddos looked adorable!
