a typical week

my week generally includes work from 6am to 10am sometimes noon. Sometimes after that I take a rest, then I exercise and get ready for the day again. If mom is in town we run errands or watch Ellen together and then we hit up Davis' baseball game. He is a starting pitcher in both of his leagues and I know I am biased, BUT the kid can pitch!

like i said, the kids got talent!

If I am lucky Nicole lets me watch the kiddos for the evening, in which I have more human contact than I have had in days, outside of the Radio Station. We will chat about the family cruise that is happening in 7 months and then we gush over Owen. If Davis is up to it he will sing me a little song and do a little theatrics as we watch American Idol and Maddie and Davis will ask me who Steven Tyler is and what an Aerosmith is. I am not going to lie, I love spending so much time with these kiddies, that are hilarious! Payton is always running around showing me her latest gymnastic trick or screaming about her boyfriend Holden. Davis acts like the cool kid, and has all these girls interested in him, but on the inside I know he is a goober and Maddie is such a peach. She convinced herself that she hadn't hurt her ankle for weeks, and when anyone BUT me asked about the limp she denied it. She claims it still doesn't hurt, but the giant black boot on her foot begs to differ. Then there is Owen, Big O! He has kind of stolen my heart, he likes me quite a bit and when his chubby cheeks get all squishy because he is smiling at me, I melt! Needless to say I am enjoying my time at home. All I need is more Jack and Yellie time and I will be set for life!

i couldn't find a picture of maddie and jack... ill keel looking

an update

Since my joke of a semester has ended BIG things have happened.... not. I did however move home so that I could be close to my internship at 1015 The Eagle and I needed a little change of scenery, if you catch my drift.

The internship has been great, I get up earlier than I imagined I could get ready and head downtown to help with the morning show. I do everything from importing new music, to writing commercial spots and attending meetings about promotions and marketing. It has been interesting to see the on-air side of radio, because I have been able to see the corporate side growing up.

I am still working at the Sticky Shoe a.k.a. Towne Cinemas in American Fork, I manage the joint, I am the real deal! I am a master at ticket sales, concessions and even the projector. Lets just say if radio doesn't work out I've got a real future.

I started going to the Willow Creek Young Single Adult Ward. You could call it a blast from the past every sunday. I am pretty sure I went to high school, middle school and/or elementary school with everyone there... if not them personally their siblings. Its been interesting to say the least. I would have to say my favorite parts have been the encounter with the kid I haven't seen since sixth grade that walked up to me and Richard Horne (from the home ward) and said KELLEY R. I haven't been called kelley r. in years, 10 to be more specific. Another highlight is getting to sit with Katie Vargo and Stacie Tillotson in Relief Society, Stacie is a riot! That's all that needs to be said.

Other than these exciting events the only other thing would be Rory moving back to New Zealand, and by exciting I mean sad.

Rorz

this guys waltzed into my life 4 years ago, I remember it vividly, I was sitting on an awful green chair in the Hall of Flags at UVU trying to study, when I heard yelling coming from the other end of the hall, I tried ignoring the loud voice, when this freakishly tall boy walked past me yelling on the phone, not just yelling but yelling profanities for all to hear. This rather tall gentleman was wearing some gym shorts that would be pants on me, a white wife beater some tall white socks and some slip on sandals. You may be wondering where his shirt was... tucked nicely into his waist band. I am sure I was not the only person in the hall that saw this spectacle, because thats what it was, but I think everyone else had grown accustomed to this New Zealander walking around like he owned the place and like he had just woken up. Over the next four years I ran into this character at athletic functions or student government events, then last summer we became friends. He left in August to play basketball in China for New Zealand and when he came back he was a different person. He told me, Kirsten and Dolph was we were leaving the State Fair that he was going to get baptized. I was a little shocked but more than that I could see that he had thought long and hard about the decision. November rolled around and Rory was baptized and I don't think I have ever really been able to see someone truly embrace the gospel like he did. I could literally see the light in him and it was incredible. As the school year progressed Rory and I became the best of friends. He was the first to call me after my surgery and when I finally moved back down to Provo he would come and sit with me everyday at work and just make me laugh uncontrollably. Being his senior year, his Visa was up at the end of the semester and he had to go home to New Zealand after five years in Utah.

Once you have met this kid and had even the slightest of conversations with him you would find out that he is an incredible man. He would do anything for his family and his brother Cam is his best friend. He started watching a cartoon in Japanese, just so he could talk to his brother about it. He talks about his mom every chance he can and will invite you to stay with them in New Zealand if you ever have the chance to go. I will miss this kid a lot. He is one of my dearest friends and he has truly changed my life over the last year.
