...an utter disaster
While I was in DC for ASACC I was in charge of the service learning project before the conference began. I had come up with a great project helping the Anacostia Watershed Society clean up Fort DuPont park. It had been fairly easy to get the plans set up and the AWS had all the details worked out, all the equipment was provided we just needed to get ourselves there... this ended up being the death of me. The project was the morning of St. Patrick's Day, this being the day that DC holds not 1 but 3 races. With the DC Rock & Roll Marathon running past our hotel and closing the nearest metro station to Fort DuPont park. After a run through friday afternoon that included one long train ride, a mile walk through a fairly sketchy neighborhood and a down pour we decided to get a bus to transport the students. This being said on the morning of the project the bus couldn't get to us and happened to be over an hour late. After all was said and done the actual project ended up being a success, we were slightly ate and irritated upon arrival but it was a beautiful day and we saved about 70 trees in the park.

my new employment
this is the Sticky Shoe, aka Towne Cinemas...
yep thats right I work here, actually manage the joint. My boss from school actually owns the theater and when the other managers quite we called me up for the job, clearly I was thrilled.
I sell tickets, oversee concessions and wind the film... be jealous all of you!
Ellie Jane's blessing
This little chunk got blessed on sunday. It was a great event, food, family and babies!
Ellie had RSV so the actual blessing was spent with her crying because she couldn't breathe... but look how cute she looks!

its your birthday shout hooray!
Parker John Hansen turned 26 today. I met Parker 3 years ago when he joined my committee on student council, we became fast friends and even though we have had our ups and downs I was more than pleased to celebrate with him and his posse.
I think this is the same cake I made for Parker 2 years ago.
Parker and his cousin Seth, this was the first photo, then it got progressively worse as they tried to take another photo...
Let's just say the there wasn't another good one taken.

a night with Jason Alexander
now you might not recognize this gentleman,
but it is George from Seinfeld. That is hair on top of his head, its a hair piece.
I got to spend the evening with this nice guy, he is very normal, and an incredible speaker. He came to UVU to help the theater department and from what I have heard he was quite the instructor. Tuesday night he was able to come to dinner and speak to the student body and he was great. Here are a few stalker photos I took.

date night with DeDaa
Davis came with me to the UVU game. Rory got some of the team to sign a t shirt for him. I think he had a good time, at least I hope he did.
hop skip and a jump... over to Denver
this weekend mother, father and I hopped on a plane and headed to meet Tiger Penguin aka Milo Gavin Reese. Upon arrival we were greeted by big brother Connor who was more than excited for some visitors and especially to show me Tiger Penguin, whom he insisted was now named Milo, and he also informed me that "he's pretty cute huh?" Friday was spent shopping and eating, while Saturday we headed to the zoo and dinner with Aunt Pam and Uncle Dan at Luxe Cafe, to say the least it was a smashing success.
yes that is a tiger and a penguin souvenir
